SPECIALIST SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPIST (NEUROLOGY)
Tal Burns is a Speech and Language Therapist specialising in adult neurological rehabilitation. Since completing her MSc in Speech and Language Sciences at UCL, Tal has worked in acute hospital and private community settings, both in the UK and in North America. Tal is skilled in the assessment and treatment of a broad range of speech, language, fluency, cognitive-communication, social communication, and swallowing difficulties, with particular interest and experience in communication disorders following acquired brain injury.
Tal is a highly dedicated and compassionate therapist who strives to improve the lives of every person and family she works with. She takes time to learn about who they are, helps them to understand both the nature of their difficulties and their individual strengths, increases their motivation and engagement in therapy to improve outcomes, and employs a range of evidence-based therapeutic techniques to work toward meaningful, functional, and achievable goals.
Tal has had extensive experience working within multidisciplinary teams, and understands the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration when it comes to facilitating neurological rehabilitation. She enjoys working closely with the other healthcare professionals involved in her clients' care, as well as with family members, friends, and carers in order to facilitate generalisation of skills and maximise treatment outcomes.
