SPECIALIST SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPIST (NEUROLOGY)
Jennifer graduated with a BMedSci in Speech Sciences, from the University of Sheffield in 2001, and has been working with adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties ever since. She has worked in a range of NHS and private settings including acute hospitals, rehabilitation units, outpatient clinics, community rehabilitation teams and nursing/residential homes for clients with both single event and progressive neurological conditions. She also has experience working as a neuro navigator and as a result carries a robust understanding of the various rehabilitation journeys patients may take from the onset of their condition, through to therapy intervention required over time, in order to achieve best possible outcomes.
Jennifer has extensive experience in the assessment and provision of therapy for a range of acquired communication difficulties including aphasia, cognitive communication difficulties, dysarthria and apraxia of speech. She is also highly experienced in the assessment and management of dysphagia (swallowing difficulties). She is a certified clinician in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) and enjoys working with clients with Parkinson's disease. Jennifer enjoys working collaboratively with clients, their families and other professionals in order to create well coordinated, patient centred and meaningful treatment plans.
