Helena Gruenstern

Helena is a Speech and Language Therapist with special interests in providing rehabilitation for people with aphasia and using technology to help people communicate. Helena has a range of experience with different neurological conditions such as people who have had a stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple systems atrophy, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis. Helena has spent time abroad helping develop speech and language therapy in Cambodia and continues to have interests in speech and language therapy developments internationally. Helena currently works both privately and in the NHS visiting patients in their homes.

Helena completed her MSc in speech and language therapy at City, University of London. Helena assesses and provides treatment for people with dysphagia (swallowing difficulties), aphasia (language difficulties), apraxia and dysarthria (motor speech disorders) and cognitive-communication disorders.

Helena prides herself in ensuring that the rehabilitation is tailored to each patient’s specific and individual goals, while involving family, friends, carers and other professionals in the process, to ensure therapy is functional and meaningful; enabling patients to achieve their goals.
