SPECIALIST PAEDIATRIC SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPIST (NEUROLOGY)

Helen qualified as a Speech & Language Therapist (MSc) from City University London in 2012. With over 12 years’ experience, she specialises in working with children with complex communication and eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. She has extensive NHS experience working across trusts in London. She has worked in clinics, mainstream schools, complex needs provisions and schools for children with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).

Passionate about improving children's quality of life, Helen champions a collaborative approach, working closely with children, families and professionals to establish holistic and motivating goals. Her patient-centred ethos prioritises the well-being of each child and family throughout decision-making processes.

Helen has specialist experience in supporting children to achieve their communication potential through the use of high and low tech Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) including switches, e-Tran frames, eye-gaze devices and PODD.

Helen is passionate about sharing knowledge and supporting other Speech and Language Therapists through coaching, supervision and training sessions.
