Hannah Sealey
SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPY ASSISTANT / NEURO REHAB ASSISTANT
Hannah is a psychology Student at the University of West London. Passionate about support services for those with developmental disabilities, neurological disorders and brain injury. Helping to give a voice to or back to those who don’t have one or feel as though they can’t express themselves is something I’ve been interested in for a long period of my life.
Through voluntary experience with stroke survivors who lost various neurological skills, I learnt the importance of helping vulnerable people become functional in their contexts again, not only is it rewarding but it increases the quality of life which they experience. Whether it be helping with speech needs or rehabilitation of lost motor skills. Experiencing first-hand improvement of well-being and being able to be a part of the solution gave me the understanding that this field is one that I want to be a part of and this is how I want to use my resources in order to help others who do not have the same resources.
I spend my free time being crafty, I love to sew, knit and crochet and all types of textile art and creation. I plan to pursue psychology as a career and become a Clinical Psychologist or a Speech & Language Therapist.
