Fiona Johnson
SPECIALIST SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPIST (NEUROLOGY)
Fiona is a thoughtful and creative Speech & Language Therapist with over 12 years experience, primarily working in community neurorehabilitation. She enjoys working closely with people with neuro conditions to explore how communication and swallow problems get in the way of the things they really want to do in their life, and collaborating on how best to address them.
Having graduated at UCL in 2008, Fiona went on to complete PhD research into how therapy works to help people and their families make changes and develop new strategies for conversations after stroke.
Her wide clinical experience includes working with people with stroke, brain injury, and functional neurological disorder as well as progressive conditions such as Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis and Motor Neurone Disease. She is trained in Lee Silverman Voice Therapy and also has experience working in an interdisciplinary brain injury team with a specialism in vocational rehabilitation.
