SPECIALIST SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPIST (NEUROLOGY)

Since qualifying as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2015, Emily has been working with people with swallow and communication disorders, mainly specialising in the adult neurological population. Emily has experience of working in the inpatient setting at St George’s Hospital, which is a large London teaching hospital, as well as in the Wolfson Neurorehabilitation setting.

Emily has vast experience working with clients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumours, spinal cord injury, and aneurysms, as well as degenerative diseases. She is able to confidently assess and manage a range of complex communication and swallowing problems within this population.

Emily is passionate about making her work client-centred, and creating meaningful and motivating goals with clients and their families. Having worked with clients during very vulnerable and frightening times, she believes therapy can be extremely empowering and strives to always adopt humanistic principles. Emily regularly reviews new research meaning her work is always evidence-based and relevant.
