Colin Sheil

SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPY ASSISTANT / NEURO REHAB ASSISTANT

Colin graduated with a degree in Physiotherapy in 2007 and has a broad range of experience in healthcare within the occupational health field, medical insurance industry and working intensively with private clients in domiciliary settings.

Colin has extensive experience working with a client with a neurological disorder that profoundly affected their ability to communicate. Facilitating his client's communication to help express his daily needs and participate fully in his social environment whilst carrying out specific speech and language therapy plans was central to the role. This gave Colin an insight into the daily issues that can face people with speech and language challenges and the rehabilitation emphasis on patient and compassionate care.

Colin has hands on experience of working with people who have sustained neurological deficits following accidents and developed a broad understanding of the impact they can have on their occupations, activities of daily living and how rehabilitation treatments can have tremendous benefits to their recovery. Colin has had formal training within the medico legal field and aims to expand his professional experience within it in the coming years.
