SPECIALIST PAEDIATRIC SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPIST (NEUROLOGY)

Claire qualified in 2008 as a Speech and Language Therapist with first class honours from De Montfort University, Leicester.  She has worked with children and young adults in many different mainstream and specialist settings. 

Formerly a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for an NHS Children’s Service, Claire has extensive experience of working with children and young people who need AAC to communicate; from gathering evidence for assessment through to implementation of a range of paper-based and powered communication aids.

Claire is a Talking Mats Trainer and is an advocate for communication as a human right.  She takes an holistic approach to communication to foster independence.
