Beth Hetherington
SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPY ASSISTANT / NEURO REHAB ASSISTANT
Beth graduated with a BSc in Psychology with Professional Placement at Reading University in 2022. Throughout the duration of completing her degree, she became passionate about contributing to the wellbeing of individuals who experience barriers with their communication. She plans to pursue a masters in Speech and Language Therapy in the future, and is keen for further experience to develop my clinical skills and knowledge.
During her placement year (as part of her psychology degree), she worked as an assistant on an Acute Stroke Unit and Neuro Rehab Unit, assisting with cognitive and emotional support of those who had experienced the devestating effects of a stroke of brain injury. She really enjoyed facilitating groups on the wards, such as communication and music therapy groups.
Beth also has experience working one-to-one with children with complex physical and learning disabilities.
Beth is interested in working with a range of people with communication difficulties. She hopes to be an advocate for empowering individuals, by being attentive to their needs and prioritising their quality of life.
