Amy Maguire graduated with an Honours degree at Marjon University in Plymouth.. Since graduating, Amy has worked in a variety of settings with adults, such as acute general medicine, community, learning disability and neurorehabilitation. This variety has given Amy the opportunity to gain a wide breadth of experience in the diagnosis and management of adults with dysphagia and acquired communication disorders. Amy has a particular interest in acquired brain injuries and progressive neurological conditions.
Amy has worked with clients with a range of conditions including clients with: Complex cognitive communication disorders, dysphagia, dysarthria, aphasia, progressive and acquired neurological conditions.
Amy is a person-centred therapist who believes in functional intervention that allows therapy to be meaningful for clients. She has experience working with multidisciplinary team members as well as families and care teams to ensure goals and intervention are patient centred.
